Course Description: The Apocolocyntosis Divi Claudii, or "Pumkinification of the Deified Claudius," attrituted to Seneca the Younger, is the only example surviving from antiquity of Menippean Satire, a satirical work mixing prose and verse. It differs strikingly from the other surviving works of Seneca and gives a perspective on political speech under Nero.

David J. White

David J. White is a Senior Lecturer in Classics at Baylor University, where he teaches all levels of Latin, including Latin Prose Composition, as well as Medical Terminology and has started Mensa Latina, a spoken Latin group for students. A former student of Fr. Reginald Foster, he has been active in spoken Latin workshops and Conventicula since 2008 and has recently become active in spoken Greek workshops. He is the immediate past President and incoming Secretary-Treasurer of the Southern Section of the Classical Association of the Middle West and South (CAMWS) and currently serves as CAMWS Orator.
