Cornelius Nepos: Vita Hannibalis (Intermediate Conversational Latin)

Wed. 7pm Eastern

Course Description: In the course we will read and discuss, entirely in Latin, Cornelius Nepos' Life of Hannibal with no expectation of preparation, i.e, at sight. We will also do activities including picture talk, and casual Latin conversation practice. Our goal? To sit back, relax, and read a text together and top up our enthusiasm for Latin midweek in a low pressure environment. Depending on the desires and abilities of students we may also supplement this account of Hannibal's life with relevant selections from Livy's Ab Urbe Condita and other historical accounts in Latin and other languages.
