Elementa I: Foundations for Latin Student Workbook, is a new spiral-bound, gray-scale workbook to accompany the 2nd edition of our Elementa I Foundations for Latin Textbook. (Previous versions offered a consumable textbook; please note that this is a new version.) The workbook includes guided notes and additional exercises, with extra space to answer the textbook exercises and blanks for additional notes.
The Elementa curriculum offers elementary and middle schools the opportunity to incorporate Latin into literacy instruction. With the teacher's manual, you can access active learning materials and scripted lessons - learn more on our website.
Through Elementa, we teach the basics of Latin grammar and vocabulary in such a way that Latin provides students with the tools to improve their mastery of English and Spanish (and other languages!), but an equally crucial goal of the curriculum is to expose students to Roman culture and inspire their curiosity for the ancient world at large. The second edition includes additional and scaffolded exercises, expanded content, and primary sources with new authors introduced in every unit.
Elementa can be used by teachers of all backgrounds regardless of their previous experience with Latin. The curriculum is flexible and easy to implement in a variety of contexts.
