The Books of Jonah and Ruth

Course Description: This class will be a read through of the books of Jonah and Ruth in Hebrew. We will be taking a look at the narrative and techniques utilized by two masterful Hebrew classics and analyzing the works linguistically in order to understand the historical time period in which they were written. Time permitting, we will look at the Hebrew portions of the book of Daniel in order to help us see the development of the Hebrew language.

INSTRUCTOR
MALACHI WALKER
D. Malachi Walker was born and raised outside of Nashville, TN. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from the Pontifical College Josephinum in Columbus, Ohio. He is finishing up his Master of Arts in Biblical and Ancient Near Eastern Studies from Hebrew University of Jerusalem in Israel and resides in Jerusalem with his pet cactus. He has had the wonderful opportunity of teaching Latin, Greek, and Hebrew.
