INSTRUCTOR
Jochen Schultheiß
Jochen has studied Classics and History at the universities of Bochum, Pisa, and Freiburg and received his PhD in Bamberg. He now teaches Latin in Würzburg and Bamberg. So far, he has worked on generational relationships in Augustine’s Confessions, on decision-making in Roman Epic poetry, and on Neo-Latin nuptial poems. Currently, he works at an edition of the Repulican playwright Accius. He is mostly interested in those topics where literature meets life, focusing on narrative devices used to represent human experience. He is happiest driving the tractor on his parents’ farm in the southwest of Germany.
